 Wooden floors
Wooden floors testify the style of the house. Every visitor and everybody living here will unintentionally look to the floor. While walking we uncounsciously feel the floor and take up the ambiente of the house.
During the past years the trend moved away from sealed wooden surfaces towards oiled and waxed floors because of the additional feeling of the wood structure. In the Engadine we often use larch as a local wood for a mountainous feeling. If you are looking for a stronger and more durable wood, oak is the product of choice. Other wood species are also being used, but require special selection for gaps and cracks in our high mountain climate.
